Who?
Art History in Schools (AHiS) is a charity that aims to increase the number of young people in the UK with access to an education in art history.
We believe that access to art history education helps young people develop skills of visual analysis, research and communication as well as build on empathy, tolerance and mutual respect for world cultures. We live in a time where these skills are most needed.

How?
By providing teachers with the training, through events and workshops, and classroom resources they need to effectively teach art history, we can increase the number of young people with access to the subject.
AHiS will alleviate the problems that often stop schools and colleges offering art history to their students. We know that art history needs to be accessible through state schools and colleges. In order to widen access to the subject we need to support it where it is most under threat.
Fundraising
In April 2020, Art History in Schools offered three full bursaries to state sector art teachers, enabling them to study the History of Art A Level online with the NEC, you can read more about the recipients here. In 2021 we continue to fundraise, join our campaign and donate. To learn more about the online A Level with NEC, visit here.
A LEVEL RESOURCES
At Art History in Schools, we continually add A Level resources and materials to our archive. We also welcome contributions from teachers, with a focus on the Themes and Periods in A Level History of Art, but also primary school resources. If you would like to contribute, please contact us.
Our most recent additions include worksheets on Otto Dix for both the War and Identities Themes.
