Helen Shaw

Helen has a BA Hons and Masters in History of Art. She recently completed her PhD in History of Art at the University of York specialising in ceramic art of the twentieth century.  Helen currently teaches A Level History of Art but has taught and lectured on a wide range of topics to undergraduate History of Art students and Masters level Fine Art students. Helen has lectured for the University of York’s Lifelong Learning programme and delivered workshops and papers at the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, the National Maritime Museum and the Barber Institute of Art. Helen is particularly passionate about teaching young people the importance of visual literacy and is keen to promote art history as a rewarding subject for all in schools throughout Yorkshire.
